As a board-certified internist, Dr Galland is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Nutrition, and is an Honorary Professor of the International College of Nutrition.
Dr. Galland is regularly chosen as one of America's Top Doctors (Castle Connolly). He is the author of more than 30 scientific articles for publications including The Journal of the American Medical Association. He has written textbook chapters for the Encyclopedia of Human Nutrition, 2nd Edition, Integrative Medicine, Principles for Practice, the Textbook of Natural Medicine, 2nd Edition, and the Textbook of Functional Medicine. He is also the author of three highly acclaimed books, The Fat Resistance Diet, Superimmunity for Kids and Power Healing.
Dr. Galland received his education at Harvard University and the New York University School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine at the N.Y.U.-Bellevue Medical Center. He has held faculty positions at New York University, Rockefeller University, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and the University of Connecticut. He is the recipient of the Harold W. Harper Award in Preventive Medicine from the American College for Advancement in Medicine and winner of the Linus Pauling Award from the Institute of Functional Medicine and the Clinician Award from the National Nutritional Foods Association (NNFA).
Interviews with Dr. Galland and articles about his work have been featured in Newsweek, Reader's Digest, Redbook, McCall's, Self, Bazaar, Men's Fitness, Allure, The New York Times, Daily News, The Washington Post, and many other publications. He has repeatedly appeared as a medical expert on ABC's Good Morning America, Today Show, PBS, Fox News Network, CNN, and MSNBC, as well as the Christian and Trinity Broadcasting Networks and dozens of local affiliates of the major broadcast networks. He is the Director of the Foundation for Integrated Medicine and maintains a private practice in New York. |
